Hello! It’s the end of another challenge, but I’m hoping this one will start up again just like the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge did. So today, we have the final prompt in the Nail Crazies Unite challenge – Vampy Matte. Vampy always brings to mind red and black, and lace and velvet, so I’ve tried to do a lacey gradient design.
What I used:
(* – affiliate links)
- *Sally Hansen Wined Up (red wine shimmer)
- Revlon Parfumerie Espresso (black creme)
- Moyra Lovedlace 15 stamping plate
- *Born Pretty Store black stamping polish
- *Born Pretty Store clear stamper
- Glisten & Glow topcoat
- *Barry M Matte topcoat
I started off with two coats of Wined Up, then sponged on a gradient of Wined Up and Espresso. All about the drinks today apparently! I only wanted a touch of black at the very tips of my nails, otherwise it would be too dark.
Next, I stamped on the lace & roses from Moyra Lovedlace plate. I found that I needed a thin, runny polish to cope with all the fine lines, and a fairly light scrape or else my stamper wouldn’t pick anything up.
I topcoated with my usual quick dry topcoat (Glisten & Glow) to seal everything in, then once it was dry, added the matte topcoat.
It did end up a bit darker than I anticipated, but I think it hits the vampy brief!
