Hi folks! Today I have the latest When Colours Collide challenge, and it has a twist. We were allowed to use a black cream polish, and any holo polishes, but the design had to be a marble (water, drip, drag etc). I’m not great at watermarbling, and I’ve never got the hand of drag marble, so I decided to try a drip marble. Using an entire holo collection!
Unfortunately the Bookature collection is no longer available, but ‘Ard As Nails has many other gorgeous holo polishes to choose from!
To do my drip marble, I used the lid of a sandwich box. I made six drips of my black creme (Revlon Parfumerie Espresso) onto the lid, then dripped each of the other polishes on top. Then, I tipped the lid around until I had a pattern I liked. I repeated it a few times in different combinations so that I had a few things to play with. I let them dry overnight.
The next morning, I peeled the marbles off the lid, and cut bits to fit my nails. I put base coat on each nail, then applied the marble decal, and cleaned up any excess with acetone.
It’s a fun process, but it does make the room stink of polish for hours as it dries! I finished off with a coat of Glisten & Glow topcoat to seal it all in.
I’m also not the world’s tidiest decal applier.
I’ll leave you with the challenge collage, some amazing work as always! If you’d like to take part in the next challenge, join the When Colours Collide Facebook group.
See you soon!
