Hi! Friday is challenge day, so today I have the latest Nail Crazies Unite challenge – Sunflowers. Such a great theme for summer! Shame the weather here isn’t co-operating..
Nail Crazies Unite challenge – Sunflowers
What I used:
* Affiliate links
- *Rimmel Mind The Gap, Victoria (blue creme)
- *Revlon Coastal Surf (blue creme)
- Nails Inc Hereford Square (iridescent flakes)
- *BlueSea Sunflower water decals G068
- Glisten & Glow HK Girl Topcoat
You might not be able to make it out from the photos (even in real life it’s a bit hard to tell!) but the background is a gradient of Mind The Gap, Victoria and Coastal Surf. I need to stop picking such similar colours to do gradients with! Anyway, I did two coats of Mind The Gap, Victoria, then sponged on the gradient. I added a coat of Hereford Square just to add a touch of interest to the background because I knew that the decals wouldn’t cover the whole nail.
The water decals I used are by a company called *BlueSea, design number #G068. They are standard decals – you remove the top clear plastic cover, cut around the design and then hold in cold water for approx 15 seconds. The decal will then slide easily from the backing paper and can be applied to the nail. They were very easy to use, didn’t tear or wrinkle (something I’ve had trouble with in the past), showed up well over my strong background colour, and held up well to topcoating (I’ve had decals almost dissolve under topcoat before!).
Once I’d applied all my decals, a coat of HK Girl topcoat sealed it all together.
I loved these nails, such a fun, summery look! Check out the links below to see what the rest of the Nail Crazies ladies came up with.
See you soon!
