26 Great Nail Art Ideas – The End Of Summer

Hi! I’ve finally had a bit of free time lately to do my nails (you may have noticed blog post frequency increasing again!) so I thought I’d try to finish off the challenges I started last year. This week the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas prompt is The End Of Summer. I thought about this for a while – nights drawing in, cooler weather (not that summer really got hot here apart from a week in June), flowers dying off… nothing that I felt I could really represent on my nails. Then it came to me – the end of the summer holidays means back to school! So, I’ve done some back to school nail art.

I’ve freehanded all this, so, it’s not amazing 😉

So we have:

  • on my thumb (and not really visible) an apple for teacher
  • index finger – A+ homework grade (what I always wanted at school, overachiever here!)
  • middle finger – blackboard with sums
  • ring ringer – pencil with eraser
  • little finger – lined writing paper

What I used:

  • MoYou London White Knight (white backgrounds+ chalk on blackboard)
  • MoYou London Black Knight (blackboard and lines on pencil)
  • MoYou London Beach House (blue lines on paper)
  • MoYou London Sweet Lips (eraser + writing paper boarder)
  • Barry M Silver Foil (metal bit on pencil)
  • Revlon Parfumerie Sunlit Grass (yellow pencil)
  • Color Alike Red Dragon (homework grade + apple)
  • Morgan Taylor Later Alligator (apple)
  • Sparkly Nails NBS2 detail brush
  • Striping brush

I think my striping brush use has got better, now I just need to be able to place the lines in the right spots.. there are reasons why I don’t freehand much! But practice makes perfect I guess. Much more practice required 🙂

Have a look below at what the rest of the ladies came up with!

See you soon,

Love,
