Clawing my way back…

Sad panda
Sad panda

One minute you’re happily blogging away, the next it’s several weeks later and everything has a light layer of dust and a neglected feel. Oops.

Life got a little hectic. The TL;DR version: got busy at work, went on holiday, came back then got a neck injury. Feel free to skip the rest of this post and go check out some pretty nails!

The big news for me – we have decided to move to Scotland! It’s a 500+ mile move, so as you can imagine it’s going to take some organising. Part of that involves me winding up my business, as it’s not transferable (I may start over when we’re settled up there though). So I’ve been informing clients, sorting paperwork & invoices and other general carp.

The injury – I put my neck out, which was excruciatingly painful! I couldn’t move my head at all, spending three days in agony without sleep. The first doctor I saw was pretty useless, but the second (my usual GP) prescribed a cocktail of muscle relaxants, painkillers and anti inflammatory tablets. It was so nice to finally be able to lay down and get some sleep! And then I pretty much slept for the next week. I’m off all the tablets now, my neck still aches but it’s tolerable and life is returning to normal. I can even paint my nails again 🙂

At some point, whilst away with the fairies on painkillers, I decided to cut my nails short and go back to squares again. I did love the old almonds, but they were a pain to shape, and they needed to be fairly long to get a nice point. Unfortunately it was pretty much the length that my nails start to grow in weird directions and go curly. So back to squares. My nails seem much healthier lately, so I’m hoping they won’t start flaking like before.

I’ve got stuff to post with old long almond nails, and new short squares. Sorry for the mix.

Going forwards, there will probably be less challenge posts than previously. I took on too many at once again! Haven’t decided yet which ones to continue with.

I think that’s everything. Congrats if you made it this far, it was a long ramble.

See you soon,

Love,

Jo x

  1. Wow! Scotland? That’s so awesome! Congrats and good luck in your new adventure! Y’all have a valid reason not to post as much as y’all like. Physical and moral health comes first! I don’t have a valid reason not to post, I only have the old “excuse’ of not having enough popularity that makes me want to keep doing my blog. That and also 3 kids that makes it almost impossible.
Have y’all ever thought about going to a chiropractor? They can heal muscles and bones drug-free. Just letting y’all know in case you ever get tired of medications 🙂

    1. Thank you!
I realise that I don’t owe any explanations of why I do or don’t post, after all, this is a hobby and no-one is paying me! I do enjoy writing though, it helps me to get my thoughts in order, I suppose my blog is a little like a diary in that respect. Only public. Plus I always find it sad when I come across a blog that has been abandoned – it makes me wonder what happened and hope that whoever was writing is now in a different, happier place.

      1. You are so right! I’ve seen so many abandoned blogs too, I wonder what happened to the owners. I believe it is because there’s little to no compensation compared to vloggers / youtubers with lots of popularity. Yes, we do this because we love blogging, but there’s always a point where we see few likes in what we do, it feels like nobody likes what we do and it doesn’t encourage to keep bothering about it.

Y’all posting pictures of your new venture in Scotland, right? 🙂

  2. Oh Jo, seems like everything has landed on your plate at once. I’m so excited for your love to Scotland, id love to live there, however it would be a tad too far away from everyone I know, but maybe the gorgeous countryside and scenery would make up for that. I’m glad your neck is on the mend and I hope that your new nails stay strong, I love your posts.

    1. Thank you! I honestly don’t know whether to be excited, overwhelmed or terrified right now! Probably a mix of all three 🙂
