Hiya! Friday means nail art challenge, this week its the turn of the Nail Crazies Unite group. The prompt this week is sweets, and I wanted to do something different to the candy nails from a week or so ago. I rummaged through my pile of nail art stuff, and came up with these Born Pretty Store water decals that I won in an Instagram competition last year. Stupid me forgot to take a pic before I cut them up, so here’s the pic from BPS:
I used the bottom images, as I thought they fitted the theme better. I painted my nails with a variety of pastel colours and applied the decals.
I’m not great at applying water decals, as you can see! I messed up a couple of nails because I’m clumsy and decals are delicate and the two don’t mix well.
In the past, with Chinese decals, I’ve often found that they are too small for my nails. No such problems here, in fact you may be able to see from the product pic that I had to cut a fair bit off both the width and length, and I don’t consider myself to have small nails. They should fit pretty much anyone. What I did find though, was that I lost a lot of the pattern which was a shame. A more condensed version would have been better. I’ve had similar complaints in the past with ‘XL’ versions of stamping plates.
What I used:
- Rimmel Pillow Talk (pastel blue creme)
- Rimmel Rain Rain Go Away (beige creme)
- Rimmel Ring A Ring O Roses (pastel pink creme)
- Rimmel Daisy Days (pastel yellow creme)
- Khroma Float Flottement (pastel green creme)
- Born Pretty Store water decals BPY28
- HK Girl Glisten & Glow topcoat
Don’t forget, if you’re ordering from Born Pretty Store, you can get 10% off full price items with my code TPMW10.
