Hi! Today’s prompt for the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge is mixed tape, which didn’t mean much to me! The only thing I could think of was the dreaded striping tape, and so I’ve put this mani off until the last minute. Literally, I’ve just finished it before writing this post!
What I used:
- Barry M Frosted Cupcakes in Marshmallow, Strawberries & Cream, Earl Grey and Blue Velvet
- Silver striping tape
- Rose gold striping tape
- HK Girl Glisten & Glow topcoat
I started out with three coats of Marshmallow on all nails apart from my ring finger, which has three coats of Earl Grey. I then very carefully painted the top part of each nail with Strawberries & Cream, and Blue Velvet for the accent nail. Much as I love how these polishes look, on me, they take an age to dry!
Once they were dry, I cut lengths of the striping tape (silver for the blue/grey nail, and rose gold for the pink/cream ones) and tried to lay it as straight as possible. I may have mentioned before how much I hate striping tape. I’m actually surprised I have any, I thought I’d thrown the damn stuff out months ago. A coat of HK Girl finished off, and also added a few bubbles as decoration. Apologies.
Feels quite restrained for me! I quite like the end look, although the ends of the tape are already starting to peel up. Horrible stuff.

Until next time,
