Hello everyone! I hope you managed to find me OK after I moved the blog to it’s new home! It’s quite exciting to have my own domain and everything, I’m thinking about throwing a little moving in giveaway soon. Watch this space! 🙂
So today is the next prompt in the Nail Crazies Unite nail art challenge. Red and black. Quite a dramatic combo. I wanted to start with a pretty red base, then cover it with black but still let bits of red peek out. The red I chose is Freckles Polish Santa Baby, which is a scarlet jelly with gold flakies. Here it is on it’s own:
I wore it like this for a day or so, then added the black.
What I used:
- Freckles Polish Santa Baby (red jelly with gold flakies)
- Rimmel Black Out (black creme)
- Straight nail vinyls from www.she-sells-seashells.co.uk
- HK Girl Glisten & Glow topcoat
I needed an opaque black for this, and Rimmel Black Out just about did the job, though I did have to use a thick coat to stop the red showing through. My lines ended up thicker than I had planned, due to using vinyls rather than striping tape. I loathe striping tape though, irritating fiddly stuff that never stays where it should!
This ended up being a very different look for me, but I liked it! However, after several manis involving black recently, I’m craving something lighter next.
See you soon,
Here’s what the rest of the Nail Crazies have come up with!
