Hello my lovelies! I’m reduced to writing this blog post on my phone, as my tablet has finally bitten the dust. So apologies for any odd spellings as my fat fingers hit too many keys at once!
Today I have the latest #whencolourscollide challenge for you, a summery combo of orange, pink and yellow. The rules have recently been tightened so we can only use these colours, no others allowed!
What I used:
- Rimmel Daisy Days (yellow creme)
- Rimmel Peachella (peach creme)
- Nails Inc Optic Glow (pastel pink creme)
- Revlon Passionate Pink (hot pink creme)
- Uberchic stamping plate 5-01
- HK Girl Glisten & Glow topcoat
I started with two coats of the yellow creme. I was then going to do a gradient with the yellow, peach and pastel pink but the only makeup sponge I could find was a latex one which just smushed the colours everywhere. So, I gave up with that, and dry brushed the peach and pink on instead. In hindsight, a stronger orange shade would have been better as the peach kind of vanished.
Once the base had dried, I stamped the swirls from the Uberchic plate. This is my first time using an Uberchic plate and I’m impressed! I love the design and it stamped perfectly, even using a non-stamping polish. I need more Uberchic plates now!
These were such fun nails, I loved wearing them! They lasted a good 4 days before starting to chip too. You may have noticed that I’ve changed nail shape – I was just having too many breaks and peeling with square nails, especially on my right hand. So I’ve gone back to ovals, and I’m considering almond shape. Maybe when they are a bit longer! I still have several posts to do with my old square nails, so expect a mix until I’ve cleared the backlog!
I’ll leave you with the challenge collage, I really do enjoy seeing how differently everyone interprets the prompts.
See you soon!
