Holiday Nails pt2 – Illamasqua Veridian

Hi! One of the things I wanted to do with my holiday untrieds was to move out of my blue/purple/pink/red comfort zone, and I think this polish does that! Illamasqua Veridian is a blackened dark green shimmer. Apparently, as a strawberry blonde, green is supposed to be my colour, but I’ve never seen it myself, and I tend to shy away from anything green – clothing, makeup or nail polish. The only reason I have this polish is that it came in a duo pack with Glitterati, which I fell in love with last winter.

All of my holiday nail photos were taken in less than ideal lighting conditions, so apologies in advance if my pics aren’t as good as usual.

The formula of Veridian is fantastic – it applied really easily, didn’t pool in my cuticles and was virtually perfect in one coat. I did add another just to fill in a couple of thin spots and to make it last a little longer. The shimmer means that Veridian is prone to brush strokes, but they aren’t too visible.

I could imagine this looking amazing as a base for gold stamping! Or for Xmas tree shapes in a few weeks time (only 13 weeks to Christmas folks!). I didn’t quite get over my aversion to greens wearing this, but I didn’t hate it either. Yay!

See you soon,
Love, Jo x
