Packing Light – A Holiday Capsule Naildrobe

Hello lovely people! I’m off away for two weeks touring around Bonny Scotland, starting tomorrow. I’m so excited! All my clothes are sorted, but now I come to the hard part – what polish to take?

We are taking our caravan, so I have a bit of space (not loads though) and as we’re not leaving the UK there are no flight or baggage restrictions to worry about. I don’t anticipate wanting to do my nails too often, but there may be afternoons where Mr Magpie is off mountain biking or we have an evening in.

I’ve decided to restrict myself to only polishes that I haven’t used before, in a (vain) hope to tackle the untried mountain, trying to pick some more unusual colours for me. Although I have sneaked a purple and blue in there! I’m also taking some stamping plates (just small BPS ones) plus a couple (ok, 3, maybe 4) stamping polishes.

So far my packing list consists of:
– nail polish remover
– cotton wool pads
– nail soaker thingys
– cotton buds
– creative stamper
– BPS plates & scraper
– clean up brush
– liquid latex (mini bottle)
– tweezers
– Ciate underwear base coat
– INM Out The Door top coat
– Barry M Silver Foil (and gold?)
– Essence Stampy white & black
– Lush Lemony Flutter

and the polishes I have picked:
– Models Own Beach Bag
– Dark Metal Polish Black Petunia
– Illamasqua Veridian
– Leighton Denny Gold Save The Queen (free on Harper Bazaar this month, gives me something to read on the trip tomorrow!)
– Nails Inc Porchester Square
– Hits Speciallità Cheesecake
– Max Factor Intense Plum
– Danglefoot Polish Desktop Musings and I Have Nothing To Wear

Probably way too many, but choice is nice! Some will work together too. I will have my camera with me, so I can take plenty of shots to blog when I get back, or when I have internet, whichever comes first!

Of course, this is all liable to change on a whim later tonight/first thing tomorrow as I get stressed packing.

And there may be shopping. In which case there will be even more untrieds.

I’ve scheduled a couple of posts, which will have my old square shape nails in them. I’ve got back to rounds now, my right hand has a couple of flaky nails that just constantly break at the corners, so I’ve filed them all off and hope they will grow back stronger. I’m hoping they will be more break resistant too while I’m away.

Scotland calls! See you in a couple of weeks 🙂
Love, Jo x
