Well.. I wasn’t looking forward to last nights weigh in. As I mentioned before, it was our anniversary on Monday, so we spent the weekend in Bakewell (which is lovely, by the way!). The food at the hotel was fantastic, but so not diet friendly! I tried to make healthy choices, but was foiled by cream in the scrambled eggs at breakfast, and butter all over the new potatoes I’d ordered instead of chips. It was all delicious though! We did do a lot of walking – my poor toes are covered in blisters now.
It seems that all the walking was enough to overcome the extras (did I mention the bowl of fresh flavoured breads with dipping oil & balsamic vinegar? No? OK, ignore that then 😉 and I lost 1.5lbs this week! Obviously I am very happy with this, especially as it meant that I received my 3.5st award 🙂
My total is now 3st 7.5lbs, or 49.5lbs (so close to that half century!) which has taken me about six months. That averages out to around 1.5-2lbs a week, which is a nice steady loss.
A couple of pics from the weekend. The first is the Monsal Head Viaduct, which is part of the Monsal Trail, a disused railway that has been converted into a pathway/cycle path/bridleway. It runs for 8 miles from Bakewell to Wye Dale. Our hotel was at the top of the hill looking down at the viaduct (just behind where I took the photo) which meant climbing up the hill to get back after walking! It was seriously steep, especially for someone lugging as much weight as me around!
The next pic is the way to Solomons Temple overlooking Buxton. Another hill (we’d already done the steep bit by this point though) and some amazing views of Buxton and the Peak District at the top.
It’s been a good week! I am very proud of myself for pushing myself up those hills, something I would have flat out refused to do 3.5st ago. I’m even contemplating more!
Hope you are all having a good week too,
Love, Jo x
